Our U14 mixed team were in indoor action today at Cults Academy, playing teams from Granite City Wanderers, Gordonians and Aberdeenshire South HC. The teams were split into 2 sessions with 5 teams in session 1 running from 11-12.45 and the second had 4 teams running from 12.45 until 2. As we travelled so far we were included in both sessions. We should have played 7 games but due to an Admin error (not me honest) we played 8, good job we had plenty of subs. All the teams were reasonably even and our players did really well throughout. My unofficial scores are below with the Quasar score first.

GCW B 2-0
GCW A 0-1
Gord A 1-2 (extra game)
Gord B 4-1
Gord A 1-0

ASHC 0-2
GCW D 1-1
GCW C 3-3

Thanks to Scott McNab for organising the festival and all those that took part including the parents that drove through.

The Juniors indoor season got off to an early start tonight with a friendly against Milnes ASG after school club who are coached by Isla and Ailsa. This was a good opportunity to give some of our players a taste of indoor hockey and to give 2 of our youngest players their first game for Quasar. The Milnes team had more experience playing on the surface and as a team so took control early on and scored a goal in the first period. Things continued in the same way for the next period and they extended their lead to 2-0. Quasar started pushing forward more towards the end as they got used to the surface and playing as a team but didn't manage to score a goal so the final score was 2-0 to Milnes.

Well done to all involved and thanks to the parents for getting everyone there which was quite short notice for some.

Thanks for the support but I didn't win, although I was really pleased to be nominated. It was also good to hear hockey and Quasar being mentioned in the nominations for Aileen and Sarah from Elgin Academy who were in the same category as me. Joshua was also nominated in the Intermediate Sportsman award for athletics and hockey.
